Swearinger Jersey , CSchool: Ole Miss | Conference: SECCollege Experience: RS Senior | Age: 23Height / Weight: 6-4 / 294 lbsProjected Draft Status: Round 7, UDFANFL Comparison: Tyler Catalina?College StatisticsN/APlayer OverviewSean Rawlings was a consensus 3-star prospect coming out of high school. He was redshirted his true freshman year (2014). In 2015 and 2016 he played primarily at RT, but in 2017 he was moved to center, and has played most of his snaps at center (his more natural position in the NFL) since then. In his RS Senior year (5th year), most of his starts were at center, but he also started two games at RG and one game at LT. StrengthsIntelligent. Set protections at the line for Ole Miss and does a good job passing rushers off to guards and assisting on blocks.High effort. Doesn’t give up on plays and looks for people to block if nobody comes to him.Good lateral agility.Good hand placement. Gets inside with initial punch.Good anchor when he can set immediately after snap.Position versatile. At some point in college, played every position but LG along the OL.Four years of experience as a starter on the offensive line.WeaknessesDefenders run around him too easily. Either he lacks the upper body strength to hold defenders in place, or he doesn’t slide-then-anchor effectively enough to stop players rushing to the side.Little push in run blocking. Generally fights to hold his ground and is good at pass blocking, but rarely pushes a defender back in 1-on-1 matchups.Needs to develop more core and upper body strength (ties to the first bullet above).Lacks aggression and nastiness.Lacks power in initial punch.23 years old, not as much room for physical growth.Let’s see his work:Rawlings is #50 (C)The following Alabama game is pretty brutal, but keep in mind that Rawlings was facing off against likely top-3 pick Quinnen Williams (#92) most plays. In that sense, he acquits himself reasonably well, especially in the early game.More about Sean Rawlings:How He Would Fit On The RedskinsRawlings fits the mold of a backup center with position-versatility and developmental upside. After looking at not just his game tape Zach Brown Jersey , but his interviews and practice sessions, I think he’s not ready to be an NFL starter, but has the traits to make a practice squad and possibly get better from there. He has the intelligence and work ethic to make it in the NFL, but needs to develop his core and upper body strength and would benefit from more reps at center. His position versatility is an asset, but I think some of his problems may be due to playing so many positions on the OL. He displays the lateral agility of someone who started at OT, which results in some excellent combination blocks as a center, but also the occasional slowness to set his base and too much willingness to rotate and lose leverage to a bull rush. I probably wouldn’t be comfortable spending a draft pick on him, but I think he’d be a quality free agent pickup. On the Redskins, he could certainly compete for a backup center job while also competing with Tyler Catalina for the do-everything backup OL role. The team should always be looking for someone to compete with Tyler Catalina for that role. At age 32, Washington quarterback Josh Johnson finally got a regular-season win. He emerged from the victory over Jacksonville with an ankle injury.Johnson has fully participated in practice on both Tuesday and Wednesday in advance of a short-week Saturday game against the Titans. And Washington, which still has a realistic shot at the playoffs, will need Johnson to play and to play well if they hope to knock off the Titans and set the stage for a possible win-and-in against the Eagles — if the Vikings lose one of their last two games.Mark Sanchez is the backup to Johnson. Not practicing on Wednesday were receiver Maurice Harris (illness), quarterback Colt McCoy (fibula) Matthew Ioannidis Jersey , tackle Ty Nsekhe (knee), and tight end Jordan Reed (ankle, foot). Limited were linebacker Ryan Anderson (hamstring), guard Tony Bergstrom (knee, ankle), defensive end Matt Ioannidis (shin), tackle Morgan Moses (ankle), running back Adrian Peterson (shoulder), defensive tackle Tim Settle (pectoral), and tackle Trent Williams (thumb, wrist).
